Long-time township employee recognized
for decades of service to community

The staff and police department of Willistown Township in Chester County took time recently to celebrate long-time municipal employee Rita Reves, who turned 93 on November 22.
According to the township, no resident can boast of a record of service to the township as lengthy and comprehensive as that of Reves.  For full story check out page 88 of the January 2020 Pa. Township News magazine.

Webin@r Wednesdays
fit your busy schedule!

PSATS is offering a series of webinars on Wednesdays from noon to 1 p.m. Each month, the topics will rotate among the four tracks of the PSATS Municipal Government Academy (PMGA): public safety, planning/zoning, administration, and public works.

  • Virtually all municipal governments must interact with volunteer fire companies, yet too many times, volunteer fire companies communicate with municipalities only at budget time or when a crisis occurs. Positive relationships between municipal officials and volunteer fire company leaders are essential to providing the best possible service to your community. This webinar will identify why unclear expectations between public officials and volunteer fire companies can lead to problems. Solutions to those problems may be easier than expected. As they say, it’s all about relationships.
  • Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the benefits of Fiber Reinforced Chip Seal Type A and B, which are crack-preventing treatments for use on township roads. Corinne Chalovich with Russell Standard Corporation will review the impressive advantages that Fiber Reinforced Chip Seal provides for preserving pavement life, especially when used in conjunction with differing waring courses as a SAMI layer (Type B). This webinar is intended for township engineers, roadmasters, other public works staff, supervisors and managers/secretaries.
  • The Trustees Insurance Fund, through PSATS, is offering a webinar to provide an introduction to our 457 Plan and help your township officials determine if this is a valuable benefit to offer to the employees. This benefit can be offered to both full-time and part-time employees for a nominal annual administrative fee.
